This project is a complete, low-cost smart home automation system built around the powerful ESP32 microcontroller. The system gives you modern, digital control over standard household appliances that are wired through a relay module. How It Works: The ESP32 acts as the "brain" and a web server, connecting directly to your home WiFi network. When you access the ESP32's IP address from any browser (on your phone, tablet, or computer), it serves a self-contained index.html file. This webpage functions as a user-friendly dashboard, displaying all your connected appliances. Key Features: Dual Control: You can toggle any appliance on or off in two ways: Web Dashboard: By tapping the "On" or "Off" buttons on the responsive webpage. IR Remote: By using a traditional infrared remote, with signals captured by an IR receiver connected to the ESP32. Real-Time Sync: The web dashboard automatically polls the ESP32 for the current status of all relays. This means if you turn a light on with the IR remote, the webpage will update itself within seconds to show that the light is "On." Local & Private: The entire system runs locally on your network. It does not depend on any cloud services, ensuring fast response times and keeping your data private. Database Logging: The project is designed for expansion. The provided SQL schema allows you to set up an external server to log every "on" and "off" event, complete with timestamps and the source of the command (e.g., 'WEB' or 'IR'). Hardware: The core hardware consists of an ESP32, an 8-channel relay module to safely switch AC appliances, and an IR receiver for remote control, making it a scalable and practical solution for any DIY smart home enthusiast.
